Formed in 1991 by White Zombie's original guitar player Tom 5 (so nicknamed, fiction has it, because his performing was the equate of v guitarists), New Jersey's Angel Rot was one of the closely unmarked players in New York's resistance metal view during the '90s. With bassist Mike Davis and drummer Steven Kleiner in towage, Angel Rot recorded their debut, Unlistenable Hymns of Indulgent Damnage, in 1993. But the lord tapes were reputedly befuddled and trussed after beingness recovered, the album only adage the light of clarence Day six-spot age afterward when it was released by the Man's Ruin label. By then, the trio's touring batting order included bassist Gyda Gash and drummer Scott Octane.

Since their start in 1995, Bigwig have delivered an fast-growing back ledgeman of bitter remark to the East Coast shores of New Jersey. Under the influence of Rich Kids on LSD and Propagandhi -- minus the anarcho-politics -- members Tom Petta (vocals/guitar), John (basso), Josh (guitar), and Dan (drums) didn't waste any time with their initial releases. Coming to the attention of Fearless Records through and through Strung Out's Jim Cherry, the banding appeared on a fistful of compilations and two EPs before their number one uncut, un Merry Melodies, was released in 1997 courtesy of Fearless. Two long time and some heavy touring followed before the followup, Stay Asleep, came proscribed on Kung Fu Records in 1999. The guys returned to Fearless for August 2001's An Invitation to Tragedy, a faster, heavier album interracial by Ryan Greene (Lagwagon, No Use for a Name). Numerous penis changes (lag members Jeremy Hernandez and Max Béchard went on to variant Near Miss together) and injuries plagued the band, causation small touring and a five-year gap between albums. With a lasting batting order eventually in place -- Petta, Zak (bass), Jeff Powers (guitar), and Keith (drums) -- Bigwig released the muscular, and long overdue, Reclamation in February 2006.

Lincolnshire rockers I Was A Cub Scout have announced that they have split up.

The band, based around main songwriter Todd Marriott, sent out a MySpace bulletin announcing the split.

They did not give specific reasons for the decision, but said they would honour live dates booked for the next month.

The band will play their last gig on July 14 at the London Koko venue as part of the iTunes festival.

The message read: "Hello friends, here goes. Tonight (June 5) we have decided that I Was A Cub Scout has and must now come to a close. We have had countless problems over the past year or so and with yet more occurring we it best to end on what would seem like a decent note.

"We will be honouring all of our UK shows of which we have confirmed, with the iTunes festival at KOKO with Death Cab For Cutie on July 14 being our last.

"We will speak more of it all soon, but for now we must tour. It is a very sad day for us."

Joseph "Adenylic acid" Fiddler is a musician wHO has an extensive lean of credits that extends crossways a couple decades. Fiddler, wHO produces and sings in increase to doing the majority of his duties on keyboards, organs, and pianos, has played on records by Prince, the Brand New Heavies, Ramsey Lewis, George Clinton, the P-Funk All Stars, the Dramatics, Primal Scream, Was (Non Was), and Too Short. With significant help from bass-playing brother Thomas "Bubz" Fiddler (another member of the extended P-Funk mob), Amp released With Respect on Elektra in 1990 as Mr. Fiddler. Although the record didn't fare intimately commercially, it was a solid update of '70s blue funk with advanced production sensibilities. In 2002, Amp issued a 12" called Basementality on the Genuine tag. Featuring a remix from close associate Kenny Dixon, Jr. (aka Moodymann), the record was an even split between mod psyche and smelly baseball club music with Fiddler's talents boldly displayed. The Love and War individual came out the following year, and the uncut Valse of a Ghetto Fly saw release in January 2004. Another solo record album, Afro hairdo Strut, was released in the U.K. in 2006; Play It Again Sam licensed it for U.S. acquittance a year later.

Amy Winehouse chops off her beehive

Troubled star Amy Winehouse has shocked fans by chopping off her trademark beehive hairstyle.
The 'Back To Black' singer has had her hair cut into a short crop, and has swapped her formerly dark locks for a peroxide blonde hairdo.
The new style is reported to have been the work of her hairdresser Alex Foden, who lives in the same east London apartment block as Winehouse.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "She just said she felt like it.  She'd thought about having a blonde beehive but decided on the shorter look."
A spokesperson for the star adds, "She wanted a new look for the New Year."

Tributes pour in for stabbed teenage actor

LONDON (Reuters) - Tributes poured in on Sunday for a teenage actor who was stabbed to death during a fight outside a pub that left three other men with serious knife wounds.

Robert Knox, 18, was fatally wounded during the "large disturbance" outside the Metro Bar on Station Road, Sidcup, Kent, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Friends and relatives left bunches of flowers outside the bar, and a stream of messages were posted on social networking Web site Facebook and the International Movie Database Web site.

The teenager had a small part in the forthcoming film Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.

His parents Sally and Colin Knox, of Maidstone Road, Sidcup, said in a statement: "Rob was kind and thoughtful and would always help out others -- he would always spend his last penny on other people instead of himself.

"The life and soul of the party, he was very outgoing, loved sports, and would always strike up a conversation with people.

"He was respectful to others and adored by all his family and friends. He was (an) asset to the family."

Three of his friends also sustained serious injuries in the incident: a 21-year-old was stabbed in the neck, a 16-year-old in the chest and a third man, aged in his late teens or early 20s, sustained stab wounds to his hand.

The 21-year-old is still receiving hospital treatment, while the other two have been discharged.

T.I. Signs Three-Movie Deal, Forges Ahead With Hollywood Career -- Despite Legal Woes

HOLLYWOOD — While peers like Common, Chris Brown and Ludacris have watched their Hollywood profiles soar over the past few years, life has been a bit more difficult for Clifford Joseph "T.I." Harris. Despite impressive work in 2006's "ATL" and 2007's "American Gangster," the rapper's performances have been lost in the shadow of his real-life run-ins with the law.

Now, however, a new deal has T.I. promising that his future is a bright one.

"I have a few films that I am in the process of working on, as a producer as well as an actor," he told MTV News this past weekend at the MTV Movie Awards. "Some with Screen Gems, some with New Line, as well as a documentary in the form of a television series with MTV."

Tip kicked the first of those off Wednesday, formally announcing a three-picture deal with Screen Gems, the home of hip-hop-flavored hits such as "This Christmas" and "Stomp the Yard." The move is a particularly daring one by Hollywood, as Tip faces a yearlong prison sentence, which is due to begin next spring.

Nevertheless, T.I. told us that he intends to resolve his legal problems and keep his Hollywood career on track. "I'm just looking forward to continuing my success in the film industry," the hitmaker said. "I want to do all kinds of movies. I want to do romantic comedies, action movies, dramas — tons of different things."

The Screen Gems contract will begin with "Bone Deep," a movie that T.I. described to us as a "young, hip-hop 'Heat' "; the movie will co-star Matt Dillon and Idris Elba. Tip also revealed exclusively to MTV News that he is in talks with Chris Brown to join the action flick as a young robber.

"Bone Deep" tells the story of a group of thieves who rob a high-rise, catching the eye of a paroled cohort who talks them into one last job, which backfires against the crew. The film will be directed by John Luessenhop ("Lockdown") and was written by Gabriel Casseus, Avery Duff and Peter Allen.

The second Screen Gems film in the contract will be "Boulevard," a dramatic film that will feature T.I. as the lead. The third movie will be determined at a later date.

'My career caused depression' - Dempsey

Actor Patrick Dempsey has said he experienced bouts of depression in his younger years over his acting career.
The World Entertainment News Network reports that the 'Grey's Anatomy' star thought he was destined for Hollywood stardom after his initial success in the 1987 comedy 'Can't Buy Me Love'.
But Dempsey found it difficult to remain upbeat when he lost out on other starring roles.
The actor's marriage to his former manager Rocky Parker, a woman 26 years his senior, ended and a period of severe depression followed.
He said: "It was a very difficult time. I was insecure. I felt I was no good. It took me two days to get psyched and it was very hard to stay positive. There were years when I wasn't working and people didn't care about me."
Dempsey and Parker divorced in 1994; he has since remarried and has three children with make-up artist Jill Fink.
The actor has now experienced worldwide fame thanks to the hit medical drama series 'Grey's Anatomy'.
